Build Pidgin from Source

I usually download the pidgin source and if there are any dependencies not
met (error: configure did not find ....) then I would use apt-get to install
those development packages (package-dev) from ubuntu instead of downloading
individual sources and compiling those.
There is also a "--disable-missing-dependencies" flag that I pass to
configure and use every time I build pidgin. You can pass this flag to
configure and it will skip and not fail on missing dependencies that are not
totally required to build pidgin. Ie: perl development packages for perl
Hope this helps,
